EMMA Panel

Environmental Toxicity House Sample Turn Around Time: 14 Days
Turn Around Time: 14 Days

Description

RealTime EMMA (Environmental Mould and Mycotoxin Assessment) assesses the home environment for 10 of the most problematic moulds and 16 of the most toxigenic mycotoxins. A small amount of dust or material from air conditioning or heater filters is sent for analysis. The amount of fungal DNA present in the sample is reported which provides an accurate method of reporting to assist in evaluating fungal infestation in the home as well as evaluating the efficacy of any treatment of the home environment.

Methodology

Quantitative PCR (qPCR) for the detection of ten pathogenic fungal species in environmental dust specimens.

When should I use

When mycotoxin illness is suspected to check the home or work environment for moulds and mycotoxins. If water damage has ever occurred, if musty smell is apparent or when the patient lives in a damp environment.
