The Thyroid Complete Profile analyses serum levels of TSH, Free T3, Free T4, Total T4, Total T3, Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPO), Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TGA), Reverse T3 (rT3) and T3 Uptake. The addition of rT3 to the Thyroid Basic Profile offers the practitioner a more complete understanding of thyroid function. The conversion of T4 to T3 can be impaired in some individuals resulting in higher levels of inactive rT3 which can lower the amount of active T3 available to the cells.
