Description
Our DNA test looks at 190 different genes and over 250 related SNPs. It offers information on an individual's genetic predispositions related to various aspects of health and well-being. It provides insights into how the unique genetic makeup of each individual may influence their risk to certain conditions such as type 2 diabetes, gluten sensitivity, detoxification processes, and more, as well as their response to certain lifestyle choices, such as diet, exercise, sleep patterns and stress management to name a few.
Methodology
Sample collection: Saliva via Buccal swab
Testing lab: Eurofins
Method of analysis is based on the Illumina Microarray (BeadArray Technology) using silica microbeads. Each array (BeadChip) allows for thousands of genotypes to be assayed at once. As DNA fragments pass over the BeadChip, each probe binds to a complementary sequence in the sample DNA. Allele specificity is conferred by a single base extension that incorporates one of four labelled nucleotides.
General Info:
All data is anonymised via ID numbers and no personal information is shared with testing lab or 3rd party
Sample is destroyed after 90 days.
When should I use
Our DNA test will allow you to learn about your client’s genetic makeup and will provide personalised information about their health, risk factors, and other traits. By understanding these elements, you can be more proactive about supporting their health by implementing lifestyle changes such as food choices, exercise, stress reduction and others that would counteract the effect of their genes.
