Wellness Blood Test [ Venous Draw ]

The Essentials Blood (Venous) Turn Around Time: 2 Days
Recommended: Contact practitioner before placing order
Turn Around Time: 2 Days

Description

The Wellness blood test includes a full blood count, HbA1C, and omega 6:3 ratio. It is perfect for assessing the basic aspects of blood metabolism. A sample of blood is collected via a finger prick or venous draw and mixed with EDTA in the test tube before being sent to the lab. A full blood count is commonly used to assess nutrient transport and immune response. When combined with HbA1C and omega 6:3 ratio, it allows for greater insights into unique aspects of metabolic health, red and white blood cell function.

Methodology

Eurofins is a UKAS-accredited medical laboratory (No. 9256). Eurofins Clinical Diagnostics UK offers an extensive repertoire of tests run on state-of-the-art analysers, including but not limited to Roche Cobas, Sysmex XN-2000, Stago, Alifax, and Tecan. Methodologies are carefully selected to ensure the highest quality of results, and alternative methodologies may be employed for confirmatory testing. Detailed information regarding the test methodologies can be found in our UKAS Scope of Accreditation. 9256 Medical Single (ukas.com)

When should I use

This test is best suited as an entry-level test or for re-assessing blood cells and basic metabolic functions. If there are questions regarding immune response or red blood cell function, this test serves as a useful tool for confirming or excluding issues. The total white blood cell count and the 5 differentials can be used to assess both the presence of a current immune response and the likely cause of it. Red blood cell (RBC) markers can evaluate the body's ability to transport oxygen and other nutrients, as well as indicate specific micronutrient needs such as iron, B6, B9, B12, and vitamin C. The additional markers, such as HbA1C and Omega 6:3 ratio, provide additional indications of what might be causing RBC issues.

Other Details

The Wellness Complete test includes all the markers from both the Wellness and Wellness Advanced tests. This can be advantageous for initial testing, as it adds the additional context of mineral levels that could further indicate the cause of RBC issues. It also allows for the full blood count markers to provide context to digestive issues, which can only be defined when both tests are combined. Fasting for a blood test:
To obtain the most accurate results, it is recommended to fast for 8 hours prior to taking a blood test. The optimal time to schedule your blood test is in the morning, after having fasted overnight.
Ensuring proper hydration:
It is important to stay well-hydrated before the blood test. Drink 2-3 litres of plain water throughout the day before the test and consume at least 500 ml of water 1-2 hours before the test. Proper hydration can affect your test results and facilitate blood flow from the pinprick site.

Phlebotomy services are NOT included as part of the kit fee.

This kit must be used within 60 days of purchase.

Omega 6:3 results take on average 2-3 weeks to analyse. An interim report with all other results will be made available as soon as possible with the Omega 6:3 results following once ready.

Please be advised that all Omnos Lab Blood test ranges are based on optimal ranges and standard ranges for Adults 18+. Any use of these tests for under 18 year old patients must be interpreted by a qualified professional rather than using the given ranges.
