Description
This test measures Borrelia burgdorferi IgG, IgM BY ELISA which is the most common method used to detect Lyme Disease. However, it may not always pick up early stages of Lyme's.
Therefore, when an ELISA test is positive, the Borrelia burgdorferi IgG, IgM BY Western blot (Test code MS2016) is usually done to confirm the diagnosis.

When should I use
Consider this test if there's suspicion of an ongoing Lyme infection.
If the patient is taking steroids, immunosuppressant medications or other medications that may suppress antibodies please check if it is appropriate for them to test.
