Returning a test

This can sometimes seem overwhelming but don't worry we are here to help. The most important thing you must do is carefully read all the instructions and shipping information for your laboratory test a few days in advance, never leave it till the last day and always use all the packaging we provide you with to comply with local shipping regulations and protect your valuable specimen.

I am in the UK

If the specimen you are returning is  less than 50ml of liquid then you can return your specimen via the Royal Mail. Visit your local post office and request “Special Delivery by 1 pm”. This is a next working day delivery and will ensure your package is traceable to ensure timely and safe delivery to us. Payment for this service is not included and you will need to make payment directly at the post office counter.

Paying for your return shipping

The return shipping fee is not included within the price of your test as this is optional, some customers choose to make their own arrangements. But if you paid us directly for your laboratory test then you will be responsible for paying for your shipping.

Locate your email order confirmation which we sent to you & select the Return Shipping option. This will log you back into your account to make a payment or just log in to your account and find your last order.

When to send your specimen

Send your specimen as soon as possible following completion. If you have a blood test, it should be sent the same day as your blood draw.

Returning Urine, Saliva, Blood or Faeces

If the item you are returning contains some form of Biological Substances, then read on. Your specimen must be properly packaged in the biohazard sealable bag supplied along with the provided absorbent material, this must then be placed within its hard box or crush-proof shell.

Finally, place it into the return mailing bag also provided. Please ensure all relevant paperwork is also enclosed.

If your specimen is greater than 50ml you may need to use one of our optional courier services or via a courier service of your own choosing.

If you choose to use our optional courier services, then please record the tracking number which is printed on your label. You need this to ensure you can track it.

Don’t leave booking your courier to the day you want to ship your specimen. Book the courier at least one working day beforehand, otherwise you will be disappointed. You will also be subject to a mandatory same-day shipping surcharge of £5.00.

Using the Post Office in the UK

There are strict guidelines for sending diagnostic samples via the post office in the UK so we hope the following helps you. Generally, specimens are referred to as a Biological Substance and are covered under a category of potentially hazardous goods known as UN3373 Biological Substances Category B, so this really refers to anything that could leak or drip. If there is no liquid component or it is under 50ml,  then you can send it via the Royal Mail. If using the Post Office, we request only "Special Delivery by 1 PM". Do not request a “special Delivery 9 am” or a Saturday delivery.

The UK and international shipping fees are based on a typical volume and size up to 1kg and exclude remote locations, or islands as identified by the courier companies.

The shipping fees published by Regenerus Laboratories are guideline fees which may vary. The guide price is based upon one test collection kit or a small number of samples combined.

All shipping services provided through Regenerus Laboratories are optional third party services and are wholly independent. Occasionally samples may get delayed or in rare occasions damaged in transit for which Regenerus Laboratories hold no responsibility or liability for damages or costs incurred following any failure of service delivery. Please see our published terms and conditions for full details.

Unless otherwise advised, all return shipping provided by Regenerus Laboratories is payable in addition to the laboratory testing fee. International Customers

Some countries have shipping restrictions and prohibit the movement of biological substances or may just be problematic and so may not be available to service.

All international shipping fees are payable in advance by the client or patient. All UK to overseas destinations, shipping fees are chargeable.
